We’re thrilled to announce that the Build Fund, a business loan fund operated by King Park, won the LISC Indianapolis Love Thy Neighborhood Award in the Opportunity Category, announced on April 18 at the awards ceremony held at the Indiana War Memorial.
As a way to recognize community game changers in the Indianapolis region, the Love Thy Neighborhood awards were created to celebrate the people and places that have made outstanding progress in developing their neighborhoods as desirable places to live, work, learn, play, and stay. The Opportunity Award recognizes an outstanding organization, individual, initiative or project with a focus on building human capital, supporting existing businesses and redeveloping commercial property for viable new businesses, which requires the deployment of capital and technical support to bolster community entrepreneurs.
“Build Fund staff are excited to receive the Opportunity Award in recognition of our efforts,” says Evan Tester, Deputy Director for the Build Fund. “We look forward to working with community partners to increase the impacts Build Fund has on Indianapolis neighborhoods.”
